Byron M. Roth argues that the current debate over immigration policy is unlikely to produce a satisfying outcome since it takes place uninformed by the science of evolutionary psychology. He thoroughly reviews theory and research indicating that the success of any policy of mass immigration will be profoundly constrained by fundamental features of human nature. Prominent among those features is a natural bias toward one s own kind and a certain wariness of others, making harmony in multi-ethnic societies problematic at best. The problems for such societies are compounded when groups differ in ability and temperament in non-trivial ways. The author explores the history of immigration to the United States prior to World War II and contrasts it with post-war immigration in the West. The evidence marshaled makes clear that the earlier immigration experience of the United States is so different from current patterns that it cannot provide a useful template for understanding and assessing those patterns. In addition, Roth addresses the disturbingly undemocratic nature of the regime of mass immigration imposed by authorities on the citizens of all western nations in defiance of their clearly expressed wishes. He shows that the chasm between elite views and public opinion is so deep that current policies can only be maintained by an increasingly totalitarian suppression of dissent that undermines the very foundations of western democracy.

This is an excellent work that provides much needed analysis of current Western policies and ideology, historical truths, and likely future. It can no longer be denied that Western elites are facilitating the destruction of the culture that has provided the light to the world. I found the material very informative. I think it should be required reading for all educators. Not all people can learn at the same pace or level. Genetic and environmental issues are the basis for our abilities. Many ideas formed years ago have to be modified by genetic and epicenetic histories.
Dr. Roth obviously did his homework. This work reflects some original thinking and a great deal of research. He is short on opinion and long on facts to support his arguments.
One can't help concluding that we have been doing an awful lot of everything wrong, and our refusal to think critically, as opposed to emotionally, has cost us a great deal.
Neither all races nor all cultures are equal, and refusing to consider them as important considerations in immigration policy is a fast road to national suicide.
A must read
This is not exactly uplifting -- because we're doomed -- but it does put things in perspective for those who find it hard to believe that encroaching progressive State sponsored tyranny has actually encroached and is fully upon us. Roth is a friendly writer, accessible, but rigorous and backs up his assertions carefully. I understand that some readers will dismiss some of his sources out of hand (judging on heresy and not true knowledge) but so what? This is important reading for anyone who understands the precipice we are standing on - so you'll know when to jump.
This academic asks valid questions in the general vein of "why do policy makers/legislators make decisions on immigration policy based on ideology rather than consulting relevant research, no matter how "politically incorrect" it might be"?
This is a thought provoking work. I recommend it.
The author's conclusion is basically that only a severe economic event that rivals the Great Depression might wake up Western European and American powers enough to take the actions necessary to preserve Western Civilization. He paints a dark picture of America and Europe's futures. This is a scholarly, cited and thoughtful look at science and history with respect to immigration and race. It is not racist or preachy, yet I am sure that it would offend many. It is sad that so many are too busy watching "Dancing With the Stars" and "Jersey Shore" to ever to bother to read it. I have read a number of books dealing with race relations and immigration issues, and this is by far the best and most comprehensive. It is not a quick read, and it is overwhelming. It should be required reading, but I have no doubt that it would be banned on high school and even college campuses for not following the prescribed politically correct indoctrination curricula. If some day archaeologists are digging through the layers of America and Europe, wondering what happened, I hope they somehow manage to unearth a copy of this book. More probably they will just find DVDs of "Jersey Shore" and that will tell them enough.
