I found this book totally enthralling. Cora Falconer, although she never visited her grandma Cora, known as Gran, much, she is given money and a castle from the lady when she dies. Going to the castle Cora is going to find out about love, spirits, family secrets and deal with all of them in a fascinating tale. The author writes an easy to read and follow story with a delightful story that is also dark and twisted at times. The author blends all aspects perfectly and readers are going to love how the author weaves the tale.

I could hardly flip through the pages of my fast enough to keep up with the action in this fast-paced short story. EB Sullivan makes you feel the chill of Scotland's rain and hear shrieks as wallpaper is pulled from the walls. Beds collapse without explanation, and tap water runs cold and scalding in moments. Is the castle haunted? The main character's practical side attributes strange happenings to common causes--but are they really? As the story progresses, and the history of the castle's prior occupants unfolds, the likelihood of ghosts becomes possible. Will history repeat itself with another death? I won't give away the ending, but Balou Castle is definitely a page-turner.
